113Ingenious suspended window plots from France
Barreau&Charbonnet’s Volet Végétal is a drawbridge-like urban gardening system that lets apartment-dwelling greenthumbs extend their window plots in a striking and mess-free manner.
a little blurry but…..this was the beginnings of my tiny garden in the tiny apartment I used to live in. I’m in a nostalgic mood. my favorite part of it was the pot of Aloe I put on top of the stump that was already there. It seemed to bring life back to a dead stump. I loved that stump. And as tiny as that place was, I was still able to hide a compost pile back in the corner.
lilac vines are just beginning to bloom…..we’ve been waiting for over a year for this….. : ) we made a “trellis” type structure of reclaimed chairs we found on the side of the road. I just wish we would’ve painted the chairs an orange color before the vines began to grow but oh well. can’t wait till it’s in full bloom!!!!

Gustav’s Garden. Since we found out that our Russian Tortoise Gustav can eat dandelions…and in fact loves them, I made him his own little garden of them that normally they would’ve been pulled up as a weed. I just transplanted them into his own garden bed :-) We can eat them in salads too but I haven’t tried that yet!
